Dance your way into summer at Attack Theatre's Summer Intensive!

Kick off your summer on the right foot! Rejuvenate your dance practice with Attack Theatre and our special guest artists in this bi-annual dance intensive.

Come for a few hours or stay the whole day, we cannot wait to move with you.

ABOUT

Traction is a week-long immersive experience designed for pre-professional and professional dancers, teaching artists, educators, and dance lovers alike.

You can choose from three tracks: The Creative Practice Track, The Creative Learning Track, or The Morning Track (which also offers drop-in classes).

Our Morning Track and drop-in classes let you attend lively dance sessions each morning or pick the days that work best for you. Kick off each morning with a dynamic modern dance class led by Attack Theatre’s own Company Dancers, followed by a variety of movement classes like Jazz, Somatic Ballet, West African Dance, Brazilian Samba, and Vinyasa Yoga. All in-person classes take place at our beautiful studios in the heart of Lawrenceville.

The Creative Learning Track offers hands-on strategies for integrating movement and kinesthetic learning into different educational settings. Led by Arts Education Managers Tricia Kohler and Brittany Tague, plus Lead Teaching Artist Hope Anthony, these workshops focus on fostering collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity. This year, there’s also trauma-informed teaching training from Tess Dally and Bailey Zembower, as well as a special session with Assemble PGH on classroom leadership.
This track is perfect for teaching artists, dancers, and educators in classrooms, PE, or arts settings who want to bring fresh ideas into their teaching. Act 48 credits are available!

The Creative Practice Track includes everything in the morning classes plus afternoon workshops in contemporary partnering, improvisation, the creative process, and repertory, led by Co-founder and Artistic Director Peter Kope and company members like Isabella Bergamin, Miranda Nichols, Melissa Burke, Anya Epstein, and Olivia Nellis. These sessions focus on creativity, personal expression, and playful exploration.
